So where do you start? First you need to pick a project. What type ride? bike or car? maybe a pickup? It’s Your decision, maybe something you have always dreamed about. But before that You will need to take a serous look at Your budget. I have seen so many projects derailed from people who were ether short on funds or didn’t have a clue of what things cost before jumped all in! Know what you have to spend before you start looking around.
So We know what we have to spend We can start looking. When you find something to check out, here are a couple of questions to ask up front. Is it running? Do you know the last time it was running? Does it have a clear title? How log have You owned the vehicle? What where Your plans for it? Depending on what there plans were with it, they may be taking it in a opposite direction that from what Your plans are. BEWARE, try and not make a quick decision, think it through. Look it over, if you do not know what to look for on certain models then take someone with You who does. Spending a few dollars on someone who has the knowledge may save a lot of Heartache later!
So if You decided You are going to buy, don’t forget to Barter! Give Them a offer, stay quite and let them speak next. I once went to checkout a 66Elcamino, the seller was asking 5k, after looking it over I told Him I couldn’t give Him a offer because I didn’t want to low ball Him. We left and before we arrived back at the shop He called and ask what I would offer, I offered 2.5k, We settled on 3k. All I am trying to say is, most of the time the price posted is not always what a person will take! GOOD LUCK!
